Sheremetyevo Airport to spend $46m on innovation development

Moscow international airport Sheremetyevo has approved a complex program of innovation development to run till 2015.The program was drafted using experience of the leading aviation companies in the world. About $46.3m is to be spent on the investment projects under the program by 2015. The funds are to be allocated by MASH, the airport operator.

The program is aimed at innovative development of the Sheremetyevo airport as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe specializing on the passenger and cargo flights.

The document implies development of new technologies, implementation of new services for clients, increasing energy efficiency and ecological production, innovations in management. The innovation focus in management processes is to be made on increasing efficiency of business-processes and implementation of new airport management mechanisms.

Under the innovation development program, the Sheremetyevo airport is to actively cooperate with leading universities and scientific research institutes, introduce new training programs for the employees, carry out analysis and monitoring of technological processes by the leading science experts.

Under the program, the Sheremetyevo airports has included 20 R&D projects with total budget of over $7m. MASH is also to participate in the projects of the technological platform “Aviation mobility and aviation technologies.
